*sticks my leg in the air* give me attention
(via grumpyyprincess)
Today I decided to walk to work. I walked up a side street where I noticed a man get in his car. It was parked so that he would have to drive down the street. I had my headphones in listening to my voicemail messages when I hear someone yell for my attention. It was the man in the car.
I can only assume that he had to reverse his car up the road to catch up with me. He rolled his window down to say something , but I was confused as he started rolling it back up. I dismissed this and kept walking. Next thing I know he is out of his car and walking towards me. He puts his hand out to shake mine and for some reason I shake his hand . He tells me he saw me walking and wanted to know if we could hang out.
I’m freaking out inside at this point and tell him I have to get to work. He asks me where I work and stupidly I just say that I work up the road ( not exactly true). I didn’t want him to know where obviously. He asks me if he could drive me to work. My eyes must have been as wide as saucers. I tell him no, that it’s okay. I keep walking up the road at a faster speed, constantly looking behind to make sure he wasn’t following me.
I get to work and could feel my face getting hot. I was scared, but also angry that in the middle of the day that something like this could happen. No one was around. My mind travels to what could have happened.
I know walking alone night can be scary, and I avoid it when I can, but shouldn’t I be able to feel safe walking during the day? All I can think of is that this man lives nearby my work and might find out where. I’m just pretty shaken up. From now on I think I’ll walk on the main roads.
